This is the so-called poormen’s 3D glasses. It’s very helpful to use it for reading paper with stereo 3D images of biomolecules. But it is not working once your images are not well-prepared. It isn’t handy when reading PDF documents on the screen. LCD is better, but nobody wants to touch their nice and fragile LCD screen, right?
According to the document (in RasMol etc.), 3D stereo side-by-side images should have a 5-degree difference of viewing angles. For more information, read this nice article: Stereo Viewing by Gale Rhodes.
